The game of Roulette dates back to the 17th Century where it was first played in France. It is now played worldwide and is one of the most popular online casino games.
The players play against the dealer/croupier. The dealer spins the roulette wheel. The roulette wheel has 37 slots (numbers1-36 and 0).
To place a bet, put your chip on the number/s of your choice on the roulette table. Some online casino sites will have minimum and maximum bets. Once everyone has placed their bets the dealer will spin the wheel and launch the ball onto it. The dealer will then give one last chance to place bets before saying "no more bets". No one can change or remove bets until the ball has landed. The dealer will then place what is known as a dolly onto the winning number and, if you win, your cash prize will be automatically added to your online account.
Luck has an important role in the game of roulette as you need to be able to predict where the ball will land on each spin of the wheel. Different methods of guessing the number are adopted. Some players choose numbers that come up regularly, some choose numbers that have not appeared for a while. You might want to choose more than one number to place your bets on, and while this does increase your chance of winning, it also lowers your winnings. Another method sometimes adopted a more mathematical approach. Whichever method you choose, you are sure to find the game of roulette exciting and, if luck is on your side, very rewarding!
The En Prison Rule is applied to even money bets only and is not adopted by all online casinos. If the outcome of the spin is zero, the casino may let the punter leave their bet on that number for another spin, or take half their bet back. If zero comes up again, the whole bet is lost.
In the case of the La Partage rule, the player loses half the bet and cannot have another efreef spin. La Partage refers to the 'outside' even-money bets: Red/Black, High/Low, Odd/Even and only applies when the outcome is zero. Both these rules cut the casino edge in half. For example, a bet on Red on a European roulette table with either rule has a 1.35% house edge and one on a American roulette table has a house edge of 2.63%.
1 Straight up bet (one number only) pays 35-1. If there is no house advantage you get 36-1
French roulette rules French Roulette has the same rules as European roulette and the same odds. However, the table layout is different.Share on:
